Milton 4, South Forsyth 2
The War Eagles lost their second consecutive Region 5-7A game against the Eagles on Thursday. South tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth inning with Karly Casey scoring on an errant throw to third. Milton scored three runs in the top of the fifth, though, and although the War Eagles were able to get one back in the sixth with a Katie Traynor RBI groundout, they could not complete the comeback, falling to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the region.
Lambert 9, West Forsyth 0
The Longhorns earned their second consecutive Region 5-7A victory with their five-inning rout against West Forsyth on Thursday. Lambert scored in all four of their hitting chances, scoring three runs in the second and fourth innings. Anna Jackson brought in two runs for the Longhorns, while Courtney Sauer and Ansley Hyde had one RBI each. Sauer also earned the win in the circle, striking out four and allowing just three hits. Emily Brown, Ryley Kutter and Maria Luce had a hit apiece for West. Lambert improved to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in the region with the win, while West dropped to 2-11-1 overall and 0-4 in region play.
Forsyth Central at Mountain View
The Bulldogs earned two wins on Thursday earning 2-0 wins over Parkview (25-15, 25-21) and Mountain View (25-13, 25-19). Central is 14-10 overall heading into area play next week.
North Forsyth at Gainesville
The Raiders split their two contests on Thursday, taking a 2-0 loss to Gainesville (25-14, 25-13) and a 2-1 win against Lakeview Academy (25-16, 20-25, 15-5). North stands at 10-9 overall heading into its tilt against Johnson on Thursday.
Johns Creek 3, West 2
The Wolverines dropped a closely-contested matchup with the Gladiators on Thursday, 16-25, 25-15, 21-25, 25-22, 26-18. West is 5-15 heading into its Tuesday matchup with Denmark.
Lambert 3, North Gwinnett 2
The Longhorns came back from a two-set deficit on Thursday to take a 21-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-8 win over the Bulldogs, improving to 7-8 overall.
Hebron Christian 2, Pinecrest Academy 0
The Paladins dropped to 2-5 overall with their 25-12, 25-5 loss to the Lions on Thursday.
