PREP ROUNDUP: Mannion leads Lambert to region victory in overtime

Connor Mannion had 29 points and 22 rebounds as Lambert survived with a 64-57 victory in overtime against Chattahoochee in a Region 6-AAAAAA game Tuesday at home.

Tanner Hall and Ross Morkem each added 11 points for Lambert (8-0, 4-0).

Habersham Central 56, South Forsyth 36

MT. AIRY – Santhosh Saravanan had 10 points but it wasn’t enough as the War Eagles dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game Tuesday on the road.

South fell to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the region.

Northview 66, West Forsyth 58

JOHNS CREEK – Jay Magee had 20 points but the Wolverines dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game Tuesday on the road.

Down eight going into the fourth quarter, West (2-5, 1-2) came back to tie the game at 53 with three minutes left but couldn’t finish.

John Peterson added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Wolverines.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Alpharetta 40, North Forsyth 38

ALPHARETTA – The Lady Raiders shot just 21 percent and dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game Tuesday on the road.

Morgan Grindle and Haley Simpson each scored eight points for North (3-4, 2-3), while Madison Moye grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Lady Raiders went just 13 of 61 from the field including 2 of 27 (7 percent) from behind the 3-point line.

South Forsyth 68, Habersham Central 37

MT. AIRY – Sarah Myers led three players in double figures with 19 points as the Lady War Eagles cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday on the road.

Emily Dreslinski added 11 points for South (5-1, 4-0), while Caroline Diem had 10 points and KK Storms scored nine.

West Forsyth 59, Northview 43

JOHNS CREEK – Jenna Staiti had 29 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks as the Lady Wolverines earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Tuesday on the road.

Brooke Pirkle came off the bench to add 10 points and six rebounds for West (7-1, 6-0). Jane Ortlip had nine points, while Kalie Schlegel added six.
