PREP ROUNDUP: North Forsyth girls set school record with 19 3-pointers

North Forsyth's girls basketball team knocked down a school-record 19 3-pointers Tuesday during a 77-25 win against Milton.

Seniors Caroline Martin and McCall Thomas led the Raiders with 18 points apiece. The Raiders outscored the Eagles 23-5 in the first quarter before carrying a 42-11 lead into halftime.

North Forsyth (16-2, 2-1 Region 5-7A) will travel to Lambert at 6 p.m. Friday.

Marist 62, Denmark 8

Denmark (6-12, 2-4 Region 7-4A) is back in action at 7 p.m. Friday against Chestatee.


Denmark 66, Marist 55

Denmark picked up a big region win Tuesday, beating Marist 66-55. 

Junior Sutton Smith led the team with 22 points and finished 11 of 13 from the free-throw line. Sophomore Robert Cowherd had 21 points and converted all nine of his free throws, while senior Adonnis Tolbert added 10 points and four rebounds, and senior Ze'Vian Capers finished with seven rebounds and six points.

The Danes (13-4, 6-0 Region 7-4A) remain in first place in Region 7-4A and have beaten every team at least once this season. Denmark will host Chestatee at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Milton 71, North Forsyth 45

North Forsyth came up short Tuesday against Milton, falling to the Eagles 71-45.

Senior Justin Costello led the Raiders with 13 points, while senior Canon Jackson had 10 and senior Corey Seitz finished with nine points.

North Forsyth (5-13, 0-3 Region 5-7A) will square off with Lambert at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefield Academy 41, Pinecrest 39

Pinecrest (8-8, 4-4 Region 6-1A Private) will host King's Ridge at 6 p.m. Friday.
