Collins Hill 5-5, North Forsyth 3-1
SUWANEE – Bella Caracciolo went 2-for-6 with an RBI but the Lady Raiders were swept Wednesday in their best-of-three series in the first round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs.
Collins Hill advanced to face East Coweta in the second round. North ended its season at 20-9.
North ace Sara King took the loss in Game 1, allowing two earned runs in 5 1/3 innings, but she left the game after taking a line drive off the leg and didn’t return. Madelyn Oliver went 2-for-3 with a double, Angelina Coleman had a double and an RBI while Caracciolo went 1-for-3 with a RBI.
Without King, the Lady Raiders went with Ashton Bruce in Game 2. Bruce allowed one run over six innings. Amber Jones drove in North’s only run. Caracciolo added a hit.
North Gwinnett 7-2, West Forsyth 2-1
SUWANEE – The Lady Wolverines were swept Wednesday by the No. 1-ranked Lady Bulldogs in the teams’ best-of-three series in the first round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs.
North Gwinnett advanced to face the Rockdale County-South Cobb winner. West ended its season at 16-12.
Kelly Carpenter took the loss in Game 1, allowing one earned run in six innings while striking out five.
Alana Frye was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI, while Carpenter and Carlie Began each had a hit.
Hannah Guthrie took the loss in Game 2 despite allowing just one earned run over seven complete innings.
Bailley Concatto went 2-for-4, Hayla Seitz had a double and RBI and Lauren Croew and Behan each added a hit.
