North Forsyth girls basketball extended its unbeaten streak with a dominating 70-40 victory Friday at Johns Creek in a Region 6-AAAAAA game.
The Lady Raiders improved to 18-0 overall and 8-0 in the region.
Leading 26-19 at halftime, North went on a 13-2 run to start the third quarter and never looked back. Avery Scarbrough led the Lady Raiders with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Caroline Bowns added 10 points.
North returns to action today at 6 p.m., against St. Francis in the Kay Yow Girl's night at Brookwood.
Centennial 46, West Forsyth 36
The Lady Wolverines snapped a two-game winning streak with a Region 6-AAAAAA loss Friday on the road.
West dropped to 11-6 overall and 4-4 in the region.
The Lady Wolverines return to action Tuesday at home against Lambert.
BOYS BASKETBALL
West Forsyth 62, Centennial 52
The Wolverines got a big Region 6-AAAAAA win Friday on the road.
Nick Staiti had 21 points and eight rebounds, while Jimmy Staiti added 18 points and 12 rebounds to help West improve to 8-10 overall and 4-4 in the region.
The Wolverines return to action Tuesday against Lambert at home.
Johns Creek 66, North Forsyth 59
The Raiders are still searching for their first win after a Region 6-AAAAAA loss Friday on the road.
North fell to 0-18 overall and 0-8 in the region.
Chad Bureau scored a game-high 18 points for the Raiders, who return to action Tuesday at South Forsyth.
Riverwood 63, Forsyth Central 60
The Bulldogs lost a close Region 7-AAAAA game Friday on the road.
Central fell to 8-12 overall and 2-8 in the region.
Cale Jackson led the Bulldogs with 17 points, while Jeremiah Jones added 14 points.
Central returns to action Tuesday at North Springs.
