PREP ROUNDUP: North softball rallies for region win

North Forsyth trailed 3-0 after two innings, but rallied to earn a come-from-behind 7-5 softball victory over Johns Creek on Tuesday on the road.

The Lady Raiders’ (12-7, 8-3 Region 6-AAAAAA) Breena Gwaltney, Andrea Coleman, Angelina Coleman and Autumn Musgrave each had an RBI. North tallied 10 hits on the night and stole three bases.

Sydney Turner (4 IP) earned the win in relief for Andrea Coleman (3 IP).

Forsyth Central 12, Osborne 3: The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning before pouring on six more runs in the sixth inning to win Tuesday at home.

Central (12-8, 5-3 Region 7-AAAAA) spread the wealth, as seven players recorded an RBI. Senior Lindsay Sokolowsky paced the team with two RBIs, while Rachel Karlan led the team with three runs scored.

Jazmin Decker earned the win, allowing two hits and struck out four in four innings pitched.

West Forsyth 12, Centennial 4: The Lady Wolverines had no trouble with Centennial, winning at home.

Jessica Bagwell led West (14-7, 8-2 Region 6-AAAAAA) with two hits and three runs scored, while Angela Jordan chipped in with two doubles. Lauren Bearden earned the win in the circle.

South Forsyth 21, Chattahoochee 2: The Lady War Eagles simply dominated the Lady Cougars in a shortened four-inning mercy rule win at Chattahoochee.

South (12-11, 8-3 Region 6-AAAAAA) scored seven runs in the first inning, six in the third inning and eight in the fourth inning for the easy win.

VOLLEYBALL

Lambert sweeps: The Lady Longhorns got a pair of Area 5-AAAAAA wins at home.

Lambert defeated West Forsyth (25-19, 25-11) and North Forsyth (25-16, 25-15).

Savannah Oaks led the Lady Longhorns with 13 kills, Brittyn Moellering added seven kills while Rachel Mannion had six kills. Kendal Barrett led Lambert with 32 assists.

South celebrates senior night: The Lady War Eagles celebrated senior night is spectacular fashion with a pair of Area 5-AAAAAA wins.

South defeated Alpharetta 25-19, 25-9 and Centennial 25-12, 25-13 to improve to 36-3.

The Lady War Eagles were led by Jordan Hawk (11 kills), Taylor Svehla (nine kills), Hannah Shanley (eight kills, nine digs), Rachel Croce (eight kills, six digs, six aces), Tory Wright (18 digs, five assists) and Kelli McCravy (37 assists).

Pinecrest sweeps: The Lady Paladins swept an area tri-match on the road.

Pinecrest defeated Atlanta International School 25-21, 23-25, 25-17 and King’s Ridge 25-14, 25-14.

The Lady Paladins were led by libero Amanda Boyd.

Central gets swept: The Lady Bulldogs were swept in an area tri-match on the road.

Forsyth Central lost to Northview 25-23, 26-24, 25-18 and Riverwood 25-20, 25-20.

Sarah Gore led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 kills, Amber Walsh had six kills and led the team in digs while Bianca Louizaire had five kills.
