The Bulldogs split their two games at the Gainesville Thanksgiving Showcase this week, taking a 67-52 win over Martin Luther King on Monday, and falling 65-62 to Cherokee Bluff on Tuesday. Anthony Roveto led Central against MLK with 21 points, while Dylan Carter, Brandon Sherer and Joakeim Celestin chipped in 12, 11 and 10.
The War Eagles participated in the Gainesville Thanksgiving Classic, falling to Cherokee Bluff 62-59 on Monday before bouncing back with a 69-57 win against Gainesville on Tuesday. South is 4-2 heading into its matchup with Northview on Saturday.
North’s boys took two losses in the Raider Classic on Monday and Tuesday with 61-49 and 70-44 losses to Brookwood and Dawson County, respectively. Justin Costello led the Raiders with 12 points against Brookwood, while Canon Jackson and Cory Seitz each tallied 10 against Dawson.
The Wolverines had a strong showing at the Gladiator Showcase at Johns Creek high School on Monday, wrapping up their appearance with a 91-70 win over Collins Hill. Broc Bidwell totaled 26 points, five assists and three rebounds, while Joseph Staiti had 15 points and five boards.
Lambert’s boys participated in two Thanksgiving tournaments this week. The Longhorns bested Nroth Gwinnett 75-65 on Monday at the Jared Cook Classic, led by Braxton Beaty and Luke Champion, who scored 18 and 17 points. At the Columbus Classic Shootout on Tuesday, Lambert took down Columbus 62-48 behind Colin Granger’s double double (10 points, 11 rebounds), along with 10 points apiece from Beaty and Will Baker.
The Danes beat Gainesville 60-45 on Monday behind Robert Cowherd’s 28 points, five rebounds and three blocks. Adonnis Tolbert added 11 points, six rebounds and six blocks. Denmark fell to Chapel 83-79 on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs took a 56-31 win over Cherokee Bluff at Gainesville High School on Tuesday, improving to 5-1 on the season. Elizabeth Pruitt had 17 points for Central, while Aisha Dabo and Jillian Bretz added 15 and 10.
South’s girls took two wins at the Gainesville Showcase, defeating Cherokee Bluff 72-42 and Gainesville 68-46 on Monday and Tuesday.
North’s girls came away with the Raider Classic championship by defeating Cherokee 68-60 on Tuesday behind Caroline Martin’s 28 points and seven three-pointers. The Raiders also beat Brookwood 60-51 on Monday, with Martin and Ansley Allen totaling 20 points each.
The Wolverines won the JC Bearden Border Wars at Franklin County High School this week, moving to 7-0 by defeating Westside (S.C.) 36-33 for the title. On Monday, West defeated Rockdale County 44-33 behind balanced scoring and team defense.
The Longhorns took a 60-39 loss to Johns Creek in their second game of the Gladiator Showcase on Monday, before defeating Northview 62-16 in that same tournament to improve to 3-3 overall.
Denmark’s girls split their games this week at the Roswell Rotary Honor Air Invitational at Roswell High School, defeating Redan 38-37 before falling to Blessed Trinity 47-22.
