GIRLS LACROSSE

Marist 15, Pinecrest Academy 14

Molly Dankowski had 10 goals but it wasn’t enough as the Paladins dropped a non-area game Tuesday at home.

Sarah DiFazio added three goals and two assists for Pinecrest (x-x), which will be a No. 4 seed in the Class 1-5A state playoffs that begin next Tuesday.

Nika Brown added a goal and an assist.

GIRLS SOCCER

Pinecrest Academy 2, Darlington 0

ROME – The Paladins advanced to the second round of the Class 1A private school state playoffs with a win on the road Tuesday.

Erin Houlihan and Margaret Metz each had a goal and assist for Pinecrest (11-8), while Ashley Triplett earned the shutout in goal.

The Paladins will play at Savannah Christian in the second round next Tuesday.

BOYS SOCCER

Pinecrest Academy 1, Darlington 0

ROME – Gabe Villar’s header was enough as the Paladins advanced to the second round of the Class 1A private school state playoffs with a win on the road Tuesday.

Pinecrest will face the winner of Calvary Day-Georgia Military in the second round.

BOYS TENNIS

South Forsyth 3, Hillgrove 0

POWDER SPRINGS – The War Eagles won on the road Tuesday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Class 7A state playoffs.

South got wins at No. 1 singles from Will Fullett (6-1, 6-3), No. 2 singles from Rajat Chaudhury (7-5, 6-4) and No. 2 doubles from Vincent Wu and Sahil Balhara (6-3, 6-4).
