South Forsyth 3, Lassiter 2

Taylor Svehla had 22 kills and the Lady War Eagles stormed back for a dramatic 23-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-14, 15-8 victory in the first round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs Thursday.

South advanced to face Rockdale County, a winner over Parkview, on Tuesday in Conyers.

Amanda Nugent had 15 kills to go along with eight digs, while Giana Frangipane added eight kills.

Erin Yeatman had a team-high 35 digs, Kailey Carr had 15 digs and Savian Jordan added 14. Hannah Larson led South with 23 assists, Courtney Darling had 15 assists and Avery Tutt added 10.

Roswell 3, West Forsyth 1

ROSWELL – Taylor Ashcraft had 11 kills and nine digs but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Wolverines lost 13-25, 25-22, 23-25, 18-25 in the first round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs Thursday.

West ended its season with a 39-10 record.

Chloe Lance had eight kills, Shelby Lance had seven kills and Caroline Frye and Savannah Butler each added five kills.

Jordan Leitch had 30 assists and nine digs, Emma Bernardez had nine digs and Danielle Menningmann and Alyssa Robertson each added five digs.

Hebron Christian 3, Pinecrest Academy 1

DACULA – Keely Denkman had 12 kills and 14 digs but the Lady Paladins lost 17-25, 26-24, 19-25, 20-25 in the first round of the Class A private school playoffs Thursday.

Pinecrest ended its season with a 24-18 record.

Gabby Wesemeyer added seven kills to go along with a team-high 13 assists, nine digs and six blocks.

Maggie Herd led Pinecrest with 29 digs while Tessa Stubbs had nine blocks.
