GIRLS BASKETBALL

North Forsyth 70, Northview 41

Caroline Bowns led three Lady Raiders in double figures with 23 points in a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.

The win marked the 200th of North head coach Eric Herrick’s career that’s included stops at Glascock County, White County and Chattahoochee.

Lochlain Corliss added 13 points for the Lady Raiders (9-0, 5-0), while Morgan Grindle added 10.

South Forsyth 41, Johns Creek 38

JOHNS CREEK – The Lady War Eagles escaped with a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

South improved to 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the region.

Johns Creek led 23-14 at halftime after the Lady War Eagles went cold in the second quarter, scoring just four points.

But South responded in the second half, out-scoring Johns Creek 16-5 in the third quarter and holding on.

West Forsyth 52, Centennial 43

ROSWELL – Jenna Staiti had 29 points as the Lady Wolverines earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.

Conner Parker and Abby Quincy each added 10 points for West (5-2, 4-1).

The Lady Wolverines trailed 31-24 at halftime and 36-32 after the third quarter, but West dominated the fourth quarter, out-scoring Centennial 20-7 to take control.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Centennial 59, West Forsyth 43

ROSWELL – Jimmy Staiti had 29 points and 14 rebounds but it wasn’t enough for the short-handed Wolverines in a Region 6-AAAAAA loss Friday on the road.

Derek Morris added six points and six rebounds for West (4-4, 2-3), who had two starters out with the flu.

Johns Creek 64, South Forsyth 45

JOHNS CREEK – The War Eagles were dominated in a Region 6-AAAAAA loss Friday on the road.

South dropped to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in the region.

Northview 58, North Forsyth 56

Nick Cunningham had 29 points for the Raiders but it wasn’t enough in a Region 6-AAAAAA loss Friday at home.

North dropped to 2-8 overall and 1-4 in the region.
