PREP ROUNDUP: South girls reach .500, Denmark boys nab region win

South Forsyth 65, Milton 15

The War Eagles improved to 11-11 on the season and 4-4 in Region 5-7A with their biggest win of the season on Friday. 

Denmark 47, West Hall 38

The Danes girls recorded their first Region 7-4A victory of the season on Friday with a victory at home over the Spartans.

Walker 48, Pinecrest Academy 38

The Paladins girls fell to 4-15 overall and 3-7 in region play on Friday with a loss on the road to the Wolverines.


Milton 67, South Forsyth 48

The War Eagles trailed by just a point at halftime, but they eventually lost pace against Milton and fell to 10-12 overall and 3-5 in Region 5-7A with the loss on Friday. 

Walker 61, Pinecrest Academy 50

The Paladins played the Wolverines closer than their last time out, in which Walker won 62-30 with a dominating second half, but fell nevertheless. Pinecrest was never outscored by more than five in a single quarter, but the Paladins lost to drop to 13-7 on the season. 

Denmark 63, West Hall 48

The Danes improved their region standing and moved to 17-6, 7-3 with a strong home win on Friday.

Sutton Smith had 19 points to lead Denmark, while Adonnis Tolbert had eight points with 12 rebounds.
