Cambridge 9, Kell 3
Jonathan Hirschland pitched a complete game and the Bears salvaged a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B series Friday at home.
Hirschland allowed three runs on five hits while striking out five for Cambridge (4-8, 4-7).
Conner Young led the Bears at the plate with three RBI. Hayden Onorato and Jake Swiacki each had two hits and two RBI.
North Forsyth 6, Johns Creek 3
Dakota Chalmers had 10 strikeouts and the Raiders earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.
Chalmers allowed two runs over six innings to get the win for North (9-5-1, 7-2).
Griffin Caracciolo and Brant Stark went 2-for-3 with a RBI each, Cory Campbell went 2-for-3 and Matthew Heard added an RBI.
Christian Heritage 11, Pinecrest Academy 10
DALTON – The Paladins suffered a Region 6-A loss in walk-off fashion Friday on the road.
Pinecrest (4-9, 3-3) had battled back from down 7-1 after four innings to tie the game at 10-10 in the top of the seventh with the help of six Christian Heritage errors.
Ryan McCarthy led the Paladins at the plate going 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI.
Pinecrest also got strong performances from John Crone (2-for-5, R), Ben Gobbel (1-for-5, R, two RBI), Will Patota (0-1, two BB, two RBI) and Andres Perez (1-for-3, two BB, RBI).
Chattahoochee 13, South Forsyth 5
JOHNS CREEK – Brett Graczyk had three hits but it wasn’t enough as the War Eagles dropped a Region 6-AAAAAA game on the road.
South (7-8, 4-5) led 3-0 after the top of the second inning but the Cougars exploded for six runs in both the bottom of the second and third innings to take control.
Jordan McGriff had a triple and RBI for the War Eagles, while Caston McDonald and Michael Strait each drove in a run.
West Forsyth 9, Alpharetta 0
ALPHARETTA – Hampton McConnell went 4-for-4 with a home run and the Wolverines cruised to a Region 6-AAAAAA victory.
Hank Flood got the win for West (7-5, 6-2), allowing no runs and one hit while striking out six over 6 innings.
The Wolverines pounded out 12 hits all together. Chris Cullen, Bryar Hawkins and Nate Schmitz each had two hits. Alec Wilson had a home run and two RBI, while Mason McWhorter had a triple and two RBI.
BOYS SOCCER
Sprayberry 2, Forsyth Central 1
Conner Hicks scored but it wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs in a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B loss Friday at home on Senior Night.
Adrian Sanchez had the assist for Central (2-9-1, 0-5).
Lambert 2, Centennial 1
ROSWELL – The Longhorns won their sixth straight in a Region 6-AAAAAA game Friday on the road.
Lambert (9-3, 5-1) got goals from Cameron Bennett and Jacob Merrill. Robert Bonet and Jalen Williams assisted on the scores.
Pinecrest Academy 8, Mount Pisgah 2
Logan Hamilton had three goals and four assists and the Paladins cruised to a Region 6-A victory Friday at home.
Lucas Perez and Ben Rivard each scored two goals apiece for Pinecrest (5-3, 4-1) which moved into second place in the region and put itself in position to clinch a home game in the first round of the Class A private school tournament with a win Tuesday at King’s Ridge.
South Forsyth 1, North Forsyth 0
Jordan Pelletier scored the lone goal of the game and the War Eagles survived with a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.
Freshman goalkeeper Walker Haymond got the shutout for South (2-11, 1-6)
West Forsyth 3, Northview 2
Drew Whitehead had a goal and two assists and the Wolverines held on for a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.
West (6-6, 3-3) also got goals from Kwaku Adu and Freddie Hackney.
GIRLS SOCCER
Forsyth Central 2, Sprayberry 0
Allie Hildebrandt scored a goal and the Lady Bulldogs pulled out a Region 7-AAAAA, Div. B victory Friday at home on Senior Night.
Central (4-7, 3-2) got its other goal from Kara Slaughter.
Lambert 3 (5), Centennial 2 (4)
ROSWELL – The Lady Longhorns made all five penalty kicks to survive with a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.
Lambert (11-1, 6-0) twice came back from a one-goal deficit in the second half.
Emily Haugen led the Lady Longhorns with a goal and an assists, while Briarly Beauchamp scored Lambert’s other goal.
Pinecrest Academy 2, Mount Pisgah 1
Erin Houlihan broke a tie game in the 65th minute and the Lady Paladins got a Region 6-A victory Friday at home.
Pinecrest (4-5, 3-2) moved into second place in the region. A win on Tuesday would clinch a home game in the first round of the Class A private school playoffs.
Miranda Correa got the assist on Houlihan’s goal.
South Forsyth 7, North Forsyth 2
Jenna Vollrath scored four goals and the Lady War Eagles pulled away in the second half for a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday on the road.
South (11-2, 5-1) led just 2-1 at halftime but exploded for five second half goals to take control.
Madeline Morgan had two goals for the Lady War Eagles and Amanda Mikus added another.
North (4-9, 0-7) got goals from Lochlain Corliss and Tiffany Raygor.
West Forsyth 1, Northview 0
Carsen Parker scored the game’s only goal and the Lady Wolverines earned a Region 6-AAAAAA victory Friday at home.
It was a big win for West (6-6, 3-3), which defeated a Lady Titans team that finished runner-up in Class AAAAA last season.
The win also snapped a two-game losing streak for the Wolverines and kept them in the playoff hunt.
