PREP ROUNDUP: West boys pull out 67-62 win at North Paulding

West Forsyth boys basketball bounced back from a tough region loss thanks in part to a big night from Nick Staiti.

The Wolverines’ senior forward had 30 points and nine rebounds in a 67-62 victory at North Paulding on Monday in a non-region game.

The win improved West to 7-9 overall.

John Conway had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Wolverines, while Jimmy Staiti had nine points, 15 rebounds and four steals.

LATE SATURDAY

Lambert 65, Roswell 59: Trevor Shipes led four Longhorns in double figures Saturday in a non-region game victory at home.

Shipes had 15 points and nine rebounds for Lambert. Joe Bates and Tanner Hall added 14 points each, while Jake Morris scored 11 points.

Chattahoochee 66, West Forsyth 44: The Wolverines couldn’t keep up with the Cougars on Saturday in a Region 6-AAAAAA game.

Nick Staiti led West with 18 points. Jimmy Staiti had a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

South Forsyth 37, Forsyth Central 28: The War Eagles grinded out a tough non-region victory Saturday at home.

Kevin Sullivan led the War Eagles with 11 points, while Chandler Cotter added 10 points.

Hebron Christian 67, Pinecrest 59: The Paladins lost a Region 8-A game on the road.

Nick Palmer led Pinecrest (5-11, 4-2) with 24 points to go along with seven rebounds and four steals. Sean Flanigan had 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Michael Bruckner added 10 points and nine rebounds.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

West Forsyth 55, North Paulding 30: Jenna Staiti led 11 scorers Monday in a non-region victory on the road.

Staiti led the Lady Wolverines with 17 points.

LATE SATURDAY

South Forsyth 65, Forsyth Central 27: The Lady War Eagles cruised Saturday to a non-region victory at home.

Sarah Myers led South (14-2, 5-1) with 31 points. Shelby Threlkeld added 13 points.

Chattahoochee 35, West Forsyth 26: The Lady Wolverines lost a tough Region 6-AAAAAA game Saturday at home.

Maddie O’Connor led West with 17 points.

Roswell 48, Lambert 32: The Lady Longhorns lost Saturday in a non-region game at home.

Lambert fell to 5-10 overall.
