Allie Hildbrandt scored two goals and the Forsyth Central girls soccer team’s compelling playoff run continued with a 3-1 victory against Effingham County on Wednesday at home in the second round of the Class AAAAA playoffs.
The Lady Bulldogs (15-4) advanced to play Northgate on Saturday at home in the state quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m.
Callie Fagan added a goal for Central, who led just 1-0 at the half but struck twice more in the second half before Effingham County scored with seven minutes left in the game.

ATLANTA – A late goal eliminated the Lady Paladins from the Class A private school playoffs Wednesday on the road.
Pinecrest (10-9) played even with AIS for 76 minutes until yielding a goal with 1:54 left in the game. AIS held on to advance to the state quarterfinals.
West Forsyth 2, Campbell 0
Izzy Lynch and Brooke Pirkle scored goals and the Lady Wolverines cruised past Campbell on Wednesday at home in the second round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs.
West (14-4-1) advanced to play Walton (11-5-2), a winner over Tift County, on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., in the state quarterfinals.
Lynch scored in the first half, while Pirkle struck in the second.

The Longhorns cruised to a victory Wednesday in the first round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs.
Lambert (18-0) advances to play Pope (15-4), a 12-11 winner against Mill Creek, on Saturday at noon in a re-match of last season’s first round playoff game the Longhorns lost in overtime.
