Bryar Hawkins struck out eight and Austin Downum had the big hit for the Wolverines in a Region 5-7A victory Friday on the road.
Hawkins allowed just three hits and one walk over seven innings for West (14-12, 7-5), which moved in to a tie for second place in the region with Central’s win over South and Milton’s loss to Lambert.
Downum was 2-for-3, including a double in the fourth inning that drove in Zach Burns for the only run West needed.
Caelan Thomas suffered the loss for North (9-18, 1-11) despite allowing just the one run in 6 1/3 innings while striking out five.
The Raiders got hits from Paul Ackerman, Clayton Bardall and Ben Stanford.
BOYS LACROSSE
North Forsyth 16, Chattahoochee 11
Chase Chapman had six goals and one assists as the Raiders earned an Area 5-6/7A victory Friday.
Tucker Brady added three goals for North, which earned its first win against Chattahoochee in program history.
Mason Jolley had two goals and three assists, Tucker Davis had two goals and an assist while Shaun Herock, Jaiden Prosser and Nick Moskovkin each had a goal. Herock was also 23 of 30 on faceoffs.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Lambert 17, Grayson 4
Peyton Smith had five goals and two assists as the Longhorns cruised to a non-area victory Thursday.
Jenna Humphries added four goals for Lambert (9-5), while Cloe Latini had three goals.
Morgan Berman made four saves in goal.

South Forsyth 2, Milton 1
MILTON – Jenna Vollrath had a goal and an assist as the War Eagles earned a Region 5-7A victory Friday on the road.
Megan Postell had the other goal for South (13-3-0, 8-2), while Gabby Tanjuatco had an assist.

MILTON – Aarnav Sandhu made two crucial saves in extra penalty kicks to give the War Eagles a Region 5-7A victory Friday on the road.
South improved to 12-4 overall and 9-1 in the region.
