PREP ROUNDUP: West Forsyth's Wassilchak throws shutout against Lambert


Avery Kline did a little bit of everything to help South Forsyth volleyball defeat Forsyth Central, 25-18, 25-17, 25-13, on Tuesday at home in an Area 5-7A match.

Kline had four kills, four digs, three blocks and seven of the team’s 18 aces.

Hannah McGlockton led South (10-19, 2-2) with 10 kills to go along with seven digs. Molly Bergin added five kills and 11 digs, while Jessica Beil also had 11 digs and Nyah Pacely had 21 assists.


Forsyth Central 3, Milton 1

Morgan Watson went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs as the Bulldogs earned a Region 5-7A victory Tuesday at home.

Bailey McCachren got the win for Central (12-6, 6-4), allowing one earned run on three hits with eight strikeouts in a complete game performance. McCachren also had a double and RBI at the plate.

West Forsyth 1, Lambert 0

Avery Wassilchak threw a complete-game shutout as the Wolverines earned a Region 5-7A victory Tuesday on the road.

Wasillchak limited the Longhorns (14-9, 7-4) to five hits.

Kelsey Schell went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in West’s only run.

Carlie Behan, Katelyn Cooper, Hannah Guthrie and Bailee Martin also had hits for the Wolverines.
