The Southeastern Conference released its 2014 football schedule Wednesday morning and Georgia fans may breathe a sigh of relief.
The Bulldogs have a favorable schedule, as their non-permanent West Division matchup is at Arkansas, while Auburn travels to Samford Stadium after back-to-back years of playing at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Georgia will also miss West powers Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M. The Bulldogs haven’t played Alabama in the regular season since 2008, LSU in 2009 and except for the 2009 Independence Bowl haven’t played A&M since 1980.
Georgia opens the year with four of its first five games at home, including the season-opener against Clemson. The Bulldogs will have an off week before traveling to South Carolina for their first SEC game. Georgia’s next off week comes before squaring off with rival Florida on Nov. 1.
