Lambert vs. South Gwinnett

When, where: Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. at Lambert

Records and seedings: Lambert is 18-0 and the No. 1 seed from Region 5-7A; South Gwinnett is 4-9-1 and the No. 4 seed from Region 8-7A

What to know: The Longhorns were never really challenged during the regular season: Lambert only allowed three total goals on the year, while Madison Haugen put together a record-setting scoring season as many of Lambert’s top performers from its 2017 state title came back after a year playing just club. Lambert’s perfect season very likely won’t end against the Comets, who earned two of their four wins against 1-13 Shiloh.

What’s next: Norcross or Peachtree Ridge

West Forsyth vs. Grayson

When, where: Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. at West Forsyth

Records and seedings: West Forsyth is 10-6-1 and the No. 2 seed from Region 5-7A; Grayson is 8-7-1 and the No. 3 seed from Region 8-7A

What to know: For the first round, the Wolverines will face the Rams, who beat them 2-1 in the second round of last year’s playoffs, a game that was marked by a controversial decision to award the Rams the winning goal. Grayson lost some key seniors from last season’s run, though, and while they still found some success this season against good teams like Peachtree Ridge, this looks like a matchup that could be a lot more even.

What’s next: Lakeside-DeKalb or North Gwinnett

Forsyth Central at Rockdale County

When, where: Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. at Rockdale County

Records and seedings: Forsyth Central is 8-8-2 and the No. 4 seed from Region 5-7A; Rockdale County is 12-3-1 and the No. 1 seed from Region 8-7A

What to know: Callie Fagan and the Bulldogs ended their regular season in a slump, winning just one of their last six contests and tying their last two games against Creekview and Sequoyah. They’ll have a tough task on the road against Rockdale, a team that has lost just once since February.

What’s next: Brookwood or Mountain View

Pinecrest Academy vs Whitefield Academy

When, where: Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Academy

Records and seedings: Pinecrest is 13-3 and the No. 1 seed from Class 1A-Private Area 8, Whitefield is 8-6 and the No. 4 seed from Class 1A-Private Area 6

What to know: Pinecrest’s young core, led by freshman Ivey Crain, helped the Paladins earn their first GHSA region championship this year after reaching the semifinals last season. They look to have a favorable first round tilt with Whitefield, but the Wolfpack have been hot as of late – they’ve won eight of their last nine games going back to Feb. 28.

What’s next: Brookstone or Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy
