Forsyth County News

When, where: Today, 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., if necessary 4 p.m. Thursday at South Forsyth.

Records, seedings: South is 19-14 and the No. 2 seed from Region 6-AAAAAA; Grayson is 18-13 and the No. 3 seed from Region 8.

On South: The Lady War Eagles know how to play under pressure. They dropped the second game of the region tournament and were forced to fight their way through the loser’s bracket for a playoff berth. South eliminated Chattahoochee, Johns Creek, North Forsyth and West Forsyth to claim the No. 2 seed before falling in the finals to Lambert.

On Grayson: The Lady Rams started the season 3-7, but figured things out in a hurry. Grayson has only lost six games since then, including a 12-0 victory over South midway through the season. However, South coach Ronnie Davis said his team will make adjustments.

"We’ve got a first-hand look at them and how we match up and see what adjustments we need to make to put us in a position to be successful," Davis said. "Grayson is a very good team. They come from a very good region and their softball program at Grayson has had a very good softball program the last 10 years."

What’s next: The winner plays the winner of North Gwinnett-Milton.
