Two Forsyth County seniors recently gave verbal commitments to swim for Division I programs. Caroline Aikins of Lambert pledged to the University of Georgia and West Forsyth's Sheridan Schreiber committed to Arizona State.

Aikins, whose sister Katherine also swims for the Bulldogs, has helped the Longhorns win team state titles all three of her years with Lambert. She was part of a title-winning 200-meter medley relay team this past season. Aikins is primarily a backstroker, having finished third in the 100-meter version of that event at the state meet.
Schreiber is a particularly versatile swimmer, having qualified for the state meet in every individual event the past two years, and her fourth-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke at last year's state meet earned her All-American honors. She also set or was part of four school records during that meet. Schreiber also will be one of multiple Division I athletes in her family, as her sister, Sienna, is committed to the University of Missouri for gymnastics.
