The North Forsyth and South Forsyth volleyball teams each played seven matches in weekend tournaments, with the Raiders competing in the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona and the War Eagles playing in the Blessed Trinity Serve for the Cure Tournament in Roswell.
The Raiders, who currently sit in first place in Area 5-7A, won three of their seven matches on Friday and Saturday. North dropped all four that it played on Friday and didn't win a set until its fourth match of the day, but the Raiders responded with three wins on Saturday, all by 2-1 margins. North played against teams from Arizona, California, Florida and Nevada in the tournament.
The War Eagles won four of the seven matches they played against fellow southeastern teams. They beat Boiling Springs (Spartansburg, S.C.) and Cambridge, and on Saturday South won two of its five matches, topping Westminster and Brookwood.
North and South are set to compete in the area tournament this week. The War Eagles face Milton on Tuesday, and the Raiders will play the winner of that match on Wednesday.
