Denmark and Forsyth Central dropped road matchups in the first round of the Class 7A state playoffs Tuesday at Cherokee and Walton, respectively.

The Danes, No. 3 seed from Region 6-7A, came up short to the Warriors by final scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-15. Meanwhile, the fourth-seeded Bulldogs came up short against the reigning champion Raiders by a 25-13, 25-16, 25-20 margin.

Denmark finished 29-15. Forsyth Central wound up 10-23.
