Lambert and South were the only Forsyth County teams to make the playoffs out of Region 6-AAAAAA, so it’s no surprise that the Longhorns and War Eagles led the way on the 2014 All-Region team.

South running back Tyler LaFlamme was named the offensive player of the year by the region’s coaches after the senior finished with 1,464 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Lambert placed seven players on the first team: running back Trevor O’Brien, receiver Tanner Hall and lineman Sean Bailey on offense, linebacker Adison Schimmelpfenning and defensive backs Jeremy Johnson and Houston Earnest on defense, and long snapper Anthony Ratliff on special teams.

South had five players on the first team (not including LaFlamme): tight end Cameron Kline and linemen Griffin Landrum and Dante Arnold on offense, linebacker Robby Johnson on defense and kicker Alex Barbir on special teams.

Wide receiver Nathan Schmitz, Hampton McConnell (as an ‘athlete’), defensive end Alec Coburn and long snapper Travis Baugus earned first-team honors for West Forsyth, which was in state playoff contention until the season’s final week.

Punter Jacob Whitten and offensive lineman Andrew Johnson were North Forsyth's first-team selections. Linemen Jackson Bardall and Brinley Rhys earned second-team honors.

Alpharetta, the region champions and only team from Region 6 to win a playoff game, led with seven first-team selections. Defensive end Andrew Butcher, a Tennessee commit, was the defensive player of the year; Ryan Kopec was special teams player of the year and Jacob Nichols was coach of the year in his first year at the helm.
