North Forsyth at South Forsyth

When, where: Tonight, 7:30, at War Eagle Stadium in Cumming.

Records, rankings: North is 4-3 overall, 1-1 in Region 5-7A and unranked; South is 4-3, 1-1 and unranked.

Series record: South leads 12-6.

Last meeting: South won 35-3 in 2015.

What to know: This could be a shootout. North has proven to be as dangerous as it looked in the beginning of the season against teams from lower classes, managing 40 points against Lambert last week and 28 against Central the week before. The Raiders could easily be 2-0 in league play and proved last week that they’re built to record an upset or two before the schedule shakes out. The thing is—with just five region games—an upset or two could lead to a region title, so North still has to play like it has everything in front of it.

South has to be feeling the same way, and a 35-14 win against Milton last week helped create some momentum following a disappointing 28-20 loss to Lambert two weeks ago. The War Eagles focused more on the ground game than they had in the past in the win over the Eagles, much to do with the health of starting quarterback Davis Shanley, who has been dealing with a lingering back issue.

With Ben Bales taking snaps, North should look much more like South than it did last season in a hapless 35-3 loss.
