South Forsyth at Johns Creek

When, where: Friday, 7:30 p.m., at The Coliseum in Alpharetta.

Records, rankings: South is 7-1, 6-1 in Region 6-AAAAAA and unranked; Johns Creek is 4-4, 4-3 and unranked.

Series history: South leads 3-2.

Last meeting: South won 49-10 in 2014.

What to know: South Forsyth is in a must-win situation if it wants a shot at claiming a region title, and it will have to do it against a Johns Creek team coming off an unexpected loss to Habersham on the road.

Johns Creek has made a living winning close games. Their wins on the season have come by just three, two, five and three points, respectively, with the lone quality victory against Alpharetta at home—a 42-39 final.

They’ll have to find a way to turn it around and score way more than six points to keep up with South, which rebounded from an emotional four-point loss to West from two weeks ago with a 49-7 score against Alpharetta last week. The final score didn’t tell the whole tale, as the War Eagles led 42-0 at halftime.

Even though South is a step behind Lambert, they still have the pedigree of the most complete and healthy team in the region. Much of that benefit has come from being able to sit starters late in games throughout the season. Sam Outlaw is coming off a four touchdown performance from last week.
