Drug task force arrests two for drug trafficking, weapon charges

Two men were arrested by officers of the Johns Creek Alpharetta Forsyth County Drug Task Force on Wednesday for drug and weapon charges after a drug operation was conducted in south Forsyth County.

Kade August Barrett, 24, of Houma, La., Kyle Brandon Cook, 23, of Euharlee, were arrested at 10:30 p.m., on Wednesday in the parking area of a hotel off McFarland Parkway following a drug investigation by members of the task force, according to a Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office incident report filed on March 27.

An unspecified quantity of MDMA and LSD were seized, according to the report, along with a handgun that one of the suspects was allegedly carrying.

Cook has been charged with possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony and two counts for possession of a schedule 1 substance with the intent to distribute.

Barrett has been charged with trafficking in illegal drugs and obstruction of law enforcement officers.

Both men have been taken to the Forsyth County Jail and are being held under no bond.
