Manufacturer planning south Forsyth expansion

A leader in manufacturing suspended ceiling systems is eyeing a south Forsyth expansion.

Officials with Worthington Armstrong Venture, or WAVE, recently submitted a request to the Forsyth County Department of Planning and Community Development for a conditional-use permit to “construct around the clock business” at a 96,075-square-foot manufacturing facility with 124 parking spaces on about nine acres at 6260 Shiloh Road.

The property is zoned restricted industrial district (M1) and will not have to be rezoned for the development.

According to information submitted with the application, the business will be open 24 hours Monday through Friday.

WAVE will have until July 1 to complete an applicant work period before the request goes to public hearings.

According to the company’s website, WAVE is a joint venture between Worthington Industries Inc., and Armstrong World Industries Inc. The company is based in Pennsylvania and has locations in Alpharetta, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada and California.
