PREP ROUNDUP: North Forsyth's Cross wins title at Takedown Sportswear Invitational

BUFORD – An inter-county matchup in the 195-pound finals highlighted Forsyth’s showing at the Takedown Sportswear Invitational at Buford High School on Saturday.

North Forsyth’s Connor Cross and South Forsyth’s Ian Hunt met in the 195 finals, with Cross getting the win with a pin just 1 minute 27 seconds into the match.

North had other individual standouts, including Cole Tenety (third, 138) and Brantley Little (second, 182). Andrew Leggett also earned his 100th career victory in route to placing fourth at 170.

South got other strong performances from AJ Riner and Charlie Ranta, who finished second at 113 and 152, respectively.

Keaton Platzke placed fourth at 195 for Forsyth Central, while Steven Messer placed fifth at 113.

Lambert finishes third at Loganville tournament

LOGANVILLE – Cole Burke and Will Kohlins each win individual titles to help the Longhorns placed third out of 20 teams at the Eric Hill Memorial Tournament at Loganville High School on Saturday.

Burke won at 160 pounds, while Kohlins won at 182.

Lambert had other individual standouts, including Lucas Teilon (second, 113), Holden Teilon (third, 120) and Austin Monie (fourth, 106).
