West, Central softball post double-digit totals in wins

The Forsyth Central softball team smashed North Hall 14-2 on Friday, taking advantage of the eight walks and six errors charged to the Trojans. Sadie Waters had two hits and scored three runs for the Bulldogs, and Grace Kiser had a double.


West Forsyth won twice on Friday, topping Walnut Grove 5-2 and Flowery Branch 10-2.

The Wolverines had just four hits against Walnut Grove, as opposed to the opposition’s 12, but they left just two runners on base and took advantage of three errors. Against Flowery Branch, the Wolverines had 11 hits, including three from Emily Kraft, and had five doubles.


Lambert lost 7-0 to Buford on Friday. Allie Sewell had two hits for the Longhorns, who fell to 2-4 with the loss.

Lambert, South volleyball record Thursday sweeps

The Lambert volleyball team beat River Ridge, 25-10, 25-14, and Centennial, 25-12, 23-15 and 25-21, on Thursday night.

Ally Hall led the Longhorns with five aces and 25 kills on the night, and Bella Tolone contributed 16 kills and 13 digs. Setter Lael White contributed five aces of her own and had 34 assists.


South Forsyth topped Hillgrove and Kennesaw Mountain on Thursday, beating the Hawks 25-14, 25-23 and topping the Mustangs 25-23, 16-25, 15-4.

Molly Bergin had 15 kills between the two matches for the War Eagles, and Avery Svehla had 10 total.


West Forsyth split a pair of matches on Thursday, beating Northview 25-16, 25-10 and falling to Dunwoody 25-14, 17-25, 20-25.

Annie Veldhuis had 19 kills for the Wolverines, and Carra Sassack had 8 kills and 13 assists. The split put West’s season record at 6-2. Svehla also led the War Eagles with 17 total digs.
