Forsyth County batted 1.000 when it came to local softball teams making the state playoffs this season. All four Region 6-AAAAAA teams — North Forsyth, West Forsyth, South Forsyth and Lambert — advanced to the Class 6A postseason, while Forsyth Central qualified  as a No. 4 seed in Class 5A.

The first round begins today with a doubleheader for each team. All Class 6A games are set for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. while Central will play at 2:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. A third game, if necessary, would be played on Thursday.

Region 6-AAAAAA champion North Forsyth (19-10) hosts Region 7 No. 4 seed Mill Creek (18-12-1). North is making its third consecutive playoff appearance and comes in on a five-game win streak.

No. 2 seed West Forsyth (17-13) faces Region 7 No. 3 seed Collins Hill (21-8) in the first softball playoff series ever hosted on the Wolverines’ campus. West is making its first appearance in the postseason since 2010. Collins Hill comes in on a six-game winning streak and has allowed only three runs in the past five games.

No. 3 seed South Forsyth (16-12-2) travels to face Region 7 No. 2 seed Peachtree Ridge (22-5), which has lost three of its last four games — all against Region 7 champion North Gwinnett — after reeling off 11 consecutive wins late in the season. South is making its first playoff appearance since 2009.

No. 4 seed Lambert travels to Region 7 No. 1 seed North Gwinnett (20-6-2). Lambert is making the program’s first appearance in the playoffs.

Region 7-AAAAA No. 4 seed Forsyth Central (15-16) travels to Region 6-AAAAA No. 1 seed Dunwoody (21-8). Central is making its first playoff appearance since 2009.
